Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using OpenCognit (the "Platform"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

2. What OpenCognit Is

OpenCognit is open-source software for orchestrating autonomous AI agent teams. It is provided as:

  • **Self-hosted software** (free, AGPL-3.0-licensed) — you run it on your own infrastructure
  • **Hosted service** (if applicable) — subject to these terms and our pricing

  • The open-source code is available on GitHub and licensed under the AGPL-3.0 License.

    3. Your Responsibilities

    You are responsible for:

  • Providing your own LLM API keys and complying with each provider's terms (Anthropic, OpenAI, OpenRouter, etc.)
  • All content generated by agents you configure and deploy
  • Securing your self-hosted instance (firewall, authentication, backups)
  • Complying with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction
  • Not using the Platform for illegal, harmful, or abusive purposes
  • 4. AI-Generated Content

OpenCognit is a tool that orchestrates AI models provided by third parties. We do not control, endorse, or take responsibility for the content generated by AI models. You are solely responsible for reviewing and validating all AI outputs before acting on them.

    5. Intellectual Property

The OpenCognit source code is licensed under the AGPL-3.0 License. You may use, copy, modify, and distribute it per the license terms. "OpenCognit" and its logo are trademarks of the project maintainers — commercial use of the brand requires permission.

    6. No Warranty

The Platform is provided "AS IS" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee uptime, accuracy, or fitness for any particular purpose. Use at your own risk.

    7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the maintainers of OpenCognit shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to: lost profits, data loss, API costs incurred by agents, or decisions made based on AI output.

    8. API Costs

When you configure agents with LLM provider API keys, your agents may incur costs charged directly by those providers. OpenCognit includes budget controls and token tracking, but you are responsible for monitoring and managing your API spend.

    9. Modifications

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

    10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Germany.
